FAQ'S Monday Silks
Mulberry silk is the highest quality silk available for purchase. It is 100% natural, odorless and hypoallergenic. Mulberry silk contains a natural protein called sericin that reduces the possibility of an allergic reaction.
Caring for your mulberry silk pillowcase is easy. Monday Silks recommends hand washing or machine washing on a gentle cycle with a silk-friendly detergent in cool-warm water. If using a washing machine, use a delicates washing bag to prevent snagging. Hang to dry out of direct sunlight. This gentle care helps preserve the silk and extends the life of your pillowcase or cot sheet.
Momme(mm) is used to measure density of silk fabrics and provide understanding of the quality in a silk fabric.
For silk bedding, you’ll want to get something above 20mm so it can withstand daily use and regular washing. Monday Silks use high grade 22mm.
Yes, silk pillowcases can be especially beneficial for those experiencing hair loss, including babies and postnatal hair loss. The smooth, gentle surface of our 100% pure mulberry silk reduces friction, a leading cause of breakage and shedding in fragile hair. By allowing your hair to glide effortlessly while you sleep, silk helps protect delicate strands, minimises stress on hair follicles, and supports the hair’s natural moisture balance—promoting healthier, stronger hair over time.
At Monday Silks, we’re committed to creating the finest in silk luxury. Our pillowcases are crafted from 100% pure, high-grade 6A mulberry silk, known worldwide as the highest quality silk available. With a luxurious 22 momme thickness and extra sheen, our silk is designed to last while delivering all the proven benefits of silk—gentle on skin, kind to hair, and naturally breathable.
